The Beauty of Alphonse Mucha


     "Alphose Mucha, (1860-1939), was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist who was best known for his distinct style. He produced many paintings, illustrations, advertisements, postcards and designs."

     Since I have discovered some of his work, I have been so inspired and rather heartened by the many images of women that he created with his talent. To see such stunning images of curvy ladies is so refreshing, and sadly rather rare these days. His images depict the dream of how a woman would like to be seen and how to feel the epitome of femininity. His use of the Art Nouveau's stylistic use of graceful lines that flow and meander through its subject; whether it be pattern, architecture or natural design, mirror so well Mucha's view of women, their feminine curves and the way that their hair is always long and undulating.

     I find all of his work so interesting, his choice of subject, colour palette and lines. I've only scratched the surface of his work and am looking forward to discovering more of it!
